The Story Café is a fast-paced casual fine-dining restaurant in Richmond that is dedicated to providing high quality food with excellent service. We are looking for an experienced individual who has drive, motivation and a passion for cooking while being a team player.

The Story Café treats every employee like a family member and wants to make sure they have good health and protection during their employment.

POSITION:
Dinner cooks 2:45 pm – 12 am , must be able to work on Saturdays and Sundays

SCHEDULE:
Full-Time Shifts

Shifts are approximately 8 hours+/day

JOB DUTIES:

  • Ensure the preparation station and the kitchen is set up and stocked.
  • Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
  • Report to the executive chef and follow instructions.
  • Make sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
  • Clean prep areas and take care of leftovers.
  • Stock inventory and supplies.
  • Cook menu items with the support of the kitchen staff.

REQUIREMENT:

  • At least 2 year cooking experience, fine dine experience is an asset
  • Able to work in a busy, fast paced environment
  • English language skill level: fluent or intermediate level
  • Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident preferred, if work permit – must be able to work more than 6 months

$19 – $23 per hour + tips

Ability to commute/relocate:
Richmond, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:
Cooking: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:
Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
Work Location: In person
