Applications are invited to apply for the British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship 2025. International applicants can apply for this fellowship program. The Mid-Career Fellowships are intended to encourage outstanding individual academics with good research projects, as well as to increase public awareness and involvement in the humanities and social sciences. Awards will be based on the quality of the planned study as well as the applicant’s ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences.
The Academy hopes to use this plan to encourage great individual scholars with good research proposals while also promoting public understanding and participation with the humanities and social sciences. The basic purpose for the scheme is to liberate successful applicants from their normal academic and administrative commitments for 6 to 12 months in order to complete a substantial piece of research. Furthermore, the Academy will look for evidence of a strong commitment to a public engagement and communication strategy for research outputs throughout the Fellowship time.
The Mid-Career Fellowships support UK-based humanities and social science professors who have made significant contributions to their field and want to further it—both academically and publicly. You’ll be able to take a 6- to 12-month break from teaching/admin duties to do extensive study and actively promote your results to the general audience. Whether you’re already well-established in the humanities or social sciences, or you’re a rising academic star with compelling ideas to share, here is your chance to obtain financing, focus completely on your study, and inspire public understanding.
