This postgraduate coursework award, known as the Master of Social Justice Commencing Scholarship, aims to provide financial support to those beginning their studies in this field.
Benefits
- Full-time students: $10,000 for one year
- Part-time students: $5,000 per year for two years.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must have an unconditional offer for the Master of Social Justice
- Must be in the first year of the program (first two semesters)
- Ineligible for those who have been granted a Commonwealth Supported Place.
Selection Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded based on:
- A personal statement demonstrating:
- Dedication to upholding and promoting fairness and equality in society
- How the scholarship will support them in their degree
- Any disadvantages or hardships (if applicable).
- Preference for applicants who demonstrate disadvantage or hardship based on:
- Identifying oneself as a person of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage
- Low socio-economic status
- Carer responsibilities
- Experiencing a persistent health issue or impairment, which may include chronic conditions or lasting impacts from past trauma
- Sole-parent responsibilities
- Regional or remote disadvantage
- Identifying as LGBTIQ+
- First in the family to attend university.
